Carrying People & Goods
Although a terminus, Meifford has an island platform, with the station building and booking office in the High Street. Passengers have to cross the line to access the steps up to the platform!
There is a shelter and a small 'Ladies Waiting Room' however, so passengers are not left out in the elements. This odd arrangement is because when the line first opened, passenger numbers were so low it didn't warrant anything 'grander'.
The island platform came about as it enabled locos to run round trains - useful in the early days when there were few locos available on the line.

The Goods Office is accessible from the Meifford town side, for foot and vehicle access, whilst any goods in by train is via the lower line. The goods siding can accommodate up to 3 wagons, which is more than adequate for level of activity expected!
Reality ..
Unlike a lot of the buildings on Meifford, the Shelter, the Station and the Goods Shed are all contstructed from wood. The outer walls are scribed to represent planking and wooden framing has been applied where appropriate.
Door and window frames are all wood, although windows have been cut out from plastic card using a Silhouette cutter. Doors for the station and shelter are made from card, laminated and given a coat of shellac to stiffen them.
Roofs are all removable, with the hope that the interiors will one day be fully fitted out. The Shelter has a corrugated roof, made in the same way as that on Meifford Slate, whilst the other two have individually applied card 'slates'.
